Our highly reliable and efficient power take-off system (PTO) makes the availability (the energy production) and the operation and maintenance cost significantly more attractive than competitor technologies. Our PTO system has undergone step changes and modifications from the experience learnt through rigorous modelling, tank testing and validation in real ocean environment. We have now built a robust and reliable commercial PTO system that requires very little maintenance throughout the 30 years life design of the system. The PTO system is designed to operate in all sea conditions and the same PTO is used in all of our shallow and deep water devices.
Highly Reliable, Low Maintenance
The devices are some of the most reliable energy generation technologies available. With only one principle moving part stationed above the water line, it means all elements are easily accessible and replaceable, without the need for prolonged period of down time, large vessels or divers.
Aquanet technology has been installed and tested via 750Kw of prototype wave energy converters in the open ocean, culminating in over 8,000 hours of laboratory tests, 40,000 hours of operating experience and 5,000 hours of grid-connected electricity generation.
Our versatile product range allows for both shallow and deep water applications, whilst also being scalable; from utility scale projects to remote island power; from coastal defense, breakwater walls to oil and gas offshore platform integration. Our shallow water 'aquaWAVE™' device can house up to 3 off-the-shelf reverse osmosis desalination units.
The whole of the PTO is being developed in modularised form as a plug-and-play solution for easy container pre-packing and export. This approach reduces the unit cost of the PTO, and allows the technology to be mass-produced.
